How the tray is set

The rules we follow when a listing goes onto a shelf — or does not.

What qualifies

A listing earns a card if the brand on it is Easy Bake and if the product is actually an Easy Bake product: an oven, a refill mix, a kit built around one of those, or the baking paper that carries the same name. Everything else that turns up alongside them — third-party pans, other people's baking toys, accessories with no brand on them — stays off the counter.

We also want a price. A listing with no price is a listing nobody can act on, and it goes in the holding pile until one appears.

How duplicates are dropped

The same oven is frequently sold under several listings by several sellers. We keep one card per actual product, and the tie-break runs in this order: in stock beats out of stock, more photographs beats fewer, more ratings beats fewer, and cheaper beats dearer. Six listings came off this counter that way, and each one is noted against the card that replaced it.

What we do not do is merge products that are genuinely different. Two cookie refills in a bundle and the same refill sold alone are two things a family can buy, so they get two cards on two different shelves.

How the shelves are ordered

Within a shelf, cards are sorted by how many people have rated the listing. A rating count is a crude signal but it is an honest one: a thousand ratings means a thousand households took the box home, and that is more useful to somebody choosing than an average computed from three people.

The paper shelf is the exception and runs cheapest first, because the only question there is which size tin you own.

What the chips mean

Ready means the listing reported stock when we last read it. Low means the listing flagged limited quantity. Soon means the listing is carrying a future availability date rather than stock on a shelf — common on the savory refill mixes, which sell through faster than the sweet ones.

None of the three is a promise. Stock on this line moves week to week and the order page is where the real answer lives.

Three cards to start from if you came here looking for a product rather than the small print.
